Sunday ~ Niners Scam Tickets

Emily asked me about a month ago if I wanted to go to the 49'ers game against Seattle on the 12th. She had a friend who got the tickets from a friend. They were supposedly this friend's season ticket seats and he did not or could not make the game so he passed them on (for a fee) to her friend. Evidently, a Raider fan, he did not want the tickets but got them and called Em knowing she was a big Niner fan and that's how the whole thing started.
Jason watched the kids and I put my projects down to bundle up and head out to the game at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. We left around 11for the 1 o'clock game hoping to miss traffic, have a leisurely stroll to the seats and get some munchies from the vendors before kickoff.
Traffic was light - almost too light for our timing. It only took about 45 minutes to get there if that. We parked for $30 and set out for the gate. The gate people were all cheery as they patted us down and checked for whatever they check for in the depths of my purse. It was toys for tots day but we did not have anything to add to the barrel so we put some cash in the bucket. Next stop was the entry guards who scanned the tickets. OOPS... these tickets are telling us we have to go to will call. Ok, another serious hike to the other side of the stadium. By now I was thinking there was something hinky about the tickets. Not good hinky.
At the will call window we were advised that our tickets ~ which, at one time were the real deal ~ had been turned in as "Lost or Stolen" ... ok... HUH? I asked about seats available and the cost. There was no getting around the fact that now we either bought another set of seats - probably the nosebleed section - or just give it up and go spend some time in the city.We opted for door number 2 and headed back to the car way up the hill from where we were. It was good exercise but by the time we got to the car, my knee was throbbing.
From there, we headed into the city thinking of lunch. Red's Java Hut on the Embarcadero was always a favorite and I knew we could find parking.

 A burger and a hot coffee later, we had a plan and proceeded into the maze of the city streets to find a fabric store or whatever else we could stumble upon.

 It was a great day with my daughter and despite the fact that the only store we could find open on Sunday selling fabric was more of a craft store and did not have what we wanted, we spent quality time tripping around and enjoying the sites. I did not take my big camera with, so here's some stuff from my Sony that I worked some magic on.

By the way, the guy we got the tickets from was very apologetic and refunded the cost of the tickets and our parking fee.

So you all know, it's not about what you are doing, it's about having a good time doing whatever you do and with whomever you are with.
